Our Colorado and Missouri milk processing facilities are among just a few plants in the U.S. dedicated solely to organic milk processing. And, our Colorado plant is among the most honored, earning several quality awards since it opened in 2004. Finished goods are packaged, labeled and stored cold at our plants, ready for shipment to stores in all 50 states.
Our processing plant labs are staffed with a team of quality control specialists who test milk at numerous points along the supply chain for freshness and food safety. These tests allow us to provide immediate feedback to the farms to ensure the best tasting and highest quality milk available.
Companies supplying materials to our milk plants must adhere to our Supplier Policy, which is reviewed annually by our Director of Quality. Suppliers must undergo a comprehensive food safety audit and meet the requirements of our Safe Quality Food (SQF) 2000 Level III Certification.
Beyond being organic and ensuring quality products, our plants are designed with environmental sustainability in mind.
Low-wattage lighting, variable speed motors, robotics and heavy-duty insulation to prevent heat and energy loss are just a few of the many energy efficient and conservation systems in place. The plants have their own water treatment facilities onsite, which allows them to pretreat and return approximately 75 percent of the water used in milk processing each year.
